Important Notes

  • All AUM fees are charged on a flat fee basis based on the full advisory dollar value under management (not a tiered/graduated structure).
  • Annual management fees are calculated as a percentage of advisory assets under management (AUM) and billed at ¼ rate at the beginning of each quarter.
  • First-year planning fees cover comprehensive financial planning services, including estate planning coordination and tax planning where applicable.
  • Planning fees are waived for accounts with $1M or more in advisory assets under management.
  • Fee schedules may be negotiable based on account complexity, legacy/family relationships, and total household assets.
  • All fees are subject to change with 30 days written notice to clients.
Internal Investment Expenses & Transaction Costs

Internal investment expenses paid to ETF and mutual fund managers range from 0.03% - 0.35% per year. Across our active/passive managed portfolios, these average 0% - 0.12% for equity investment sleeves, and 0.16% - 0.24% for our passive/active fixed income investment sleeves. Our portfolio turnover has been historically low, and LPL Financial charges nominal transaction or ticket charges ranging from $0 - $26 per investment (stock, bond, mutual fund, or ETF) transaction. There are currently no investment management platform fees at BluHawk Wealth Management, LLC.

Mutual Selection Meeting

This is where we begin—a conversation to see if we're the right fit for each other. We'll get to know you and learn about the basics of your financial situation in a relaxed, no-pressure setting. Before we meet, we'll ask you to complete our Preliminary Financial Planning Profile so we can make the most of our time together. If it feels like a good match for both of us, we'll talk about next steps.

The Discovery Process

Once we've both decided to move forward, we dive deeper into understanding your complete financial picture. During this phase, we'll gather detailed information about your current finances, your goals, and any concerns on your mind. We make this easy by working together via email and phone to securely collect everything we need. We'll also have you complete a Risk Profile to help us understand your comfort level, so our investment recommendations truly fit who you are.

Strategy Meeting

This is where things get exciting. Typically 2-3 weeks after completing Step 2, we sit down together to explore strategies tailored specifically to you—what makes sense, when to take action, and how it all aligns with your values, comfort level, and financial goals. No paperwork needed; just good conversation. Here's what we'll cover together:

  • Answer any financial questions on your mind, drawing from what we've learned about you and your situation.
  • Talk through your top priorities and life-stage considerations—things like insurance needs, cash reserves, Social Security timing, tax-saving opportunities, employee benefits, estate planning, and charitable giving.
  • Walk through financial projections using your data, so you can see clearly whether you're on track for retirement or if we need to make adjustments.
  • Share our recommendations for how to position your investments, based on your risk comfort level, personal factors from our conversations, and your time horizon.

Implementation Meetings

This is where your plan comes to life—and where our ongoing partnership really shines. These meetings give us dedicated time to review the progress we've made together and talk through any changes in your life or financial picture. Because life doesn't stand still, we typically meet 1-3 times each year to make sure your strategy stays aligned with where you are and where you're headed.
