A Note from the Founder: Football! Investing! You!

WOW! Where has the year gone ALREADY? We are well past the halfway mark and rolling through Q3, with, as we mentioned last month, a major midterm election cycle now squarely on the calendar. The headlines (and the data points) will get louder from here, and we will be watching them regularly.

But hold on just a minute!

On the heels of an exciting World Cup over a long, steamy summer, the REAL American action sport is about to begin! Pro and college, wherever your favorite team, school, or conference straps on the helmet and pads, yes, FOOTBALL is back! As many of you know, I have my favorites, and I am already looking forward to one game in Iowa City this fall. If you have never experienced Kinnick on a Saturday, let me assure you: Winning or “learning” (and we experience our share of both 😉 ), Hawkeye fans know how to make noise.

What amazes me most about football, professional and college alike, is not just the sheer, raw talent on display, it is everything you never see. The work. The film study. The planning. The discipline of showing up long before kickoff and long after the final snap. Nobody puts a winner on the field by accident.

We think about our work at BHWM much the same way.

Every day, when the laptop finally closes, our team knows exactly where we stand: was today a winner, or was today a lesson? In this profession, there is not much ambiguity in the final results, the scoreboard is right there on the screen, and in the success we strive for our clients to achieve in their lives. Many of you have felt that too, and have been grateful to see plenty of “green on the screen” over the past several years. We never take that for granted, and we know the discipline behind it matters far more than any single quarter. Just know that season after season, win one, learn some, the green that matters is not on the screen before you that day, but rather well into the future.

As the season turns, so does the calendar. The back half of the year brings cooler evenings, crowded stadiums, full tables, and the people we care about most gathered close. That togetherness is the whole point of the planning, and yes, the work we do; and we are grateful to be your team for financial readiness, whatever the season may bring.
